We have just returned from spending a fabulous couple of days in the beautiful city of Évora. It is the capital of Portugal's south central Alentejo region, and it was the perfect place to spend Christmas! We spent most of the time relaxing and chilling out; but we did venture out for our traditional Christmas Day walk, and we got a big surprise!

Our wander through the city took us through Évora's public park, which was build by the municipality between 1863 and 1867. What we didn't expect when wandering through the gardens was to see masses of peacocks!

We have only ever seen them in pairs before, but we came across around 40 of them which was just breathtaking. We've now discovered a group of peacocks is called a muster - they do say you learn something new every day!

They are clearly used to people being around them, as we were able to get close enough to admire their gorgeous colours. It was a magical Christmas Day experience, and one that we will never forget!
