2026 - Time to try to find our feet again

It’s been a while since we last wrote here. Not because we had nothing to say, but because sometimes life has a way of quieting everything — even the words. Last year, we lost an immediate family member who was very dear to us. It happened suddenly, and in an instant our world felt smaller, quieter, and heavier. We left Portugal and returned to the UK to be with family, to do what was needed, and to try to make sense of everything.

Anyone who has experienced grief will understand that it isn’t something you simply move past. It reshapes you. The world you come back to is not quite the one you left, and it takes time to find your footing again, and understand what “normal” now means. It has taken a long time for us to start to find our feet, our rhythm, and eventually the space to feel like writing again. There was no rush. Life needed to be lived quietly for a while. Slowly, we’re beginning to appreciate the small things again: the light, the slower pace, familiar places, moments that feel gently grounding. Healing isn’t instant, but it happens in fragments, often when you least expect it.

We’re ready to start sharing again — carefully, honestly, and in our own time. We hope you’ll continue to follow along, walk this next chapter with us, and share the journey as it unfolds. Thank you for being here, and for your patience while we found our way back.

Lovely measured and reflective piece. It perfectly captures the dislocation and impact, aftershocks and ripples that flow from loss - and the myriad of emotions created along the way.

Much love.

Avidly awaiting your next chapter.
