New year; new start, same hobby!

Are you one of those people who got to January the 1st, and decided it was time to start exercising? If so....I'm with you! Overindulging over the festive season is great fun, but it isn't long before you feel like you need to get out there, and burn some calories.

For me, it's not all about fitness. It's also a good idea to try to finding something that not only gets your heart going, but if you can find something you enjoy doing, it's even better. Cycling in the winter in Scotland is something that I never really enjoyed - probably because I have spent far too many days out on my bike over the years wearing gloves; leg warmers, and lots of layers of kit!

Who doesn't prefer to be out on their bike in dry, mild weather - and that's exactly what we have enjoyed over the festive period. As you may have read on our blog I had a trip back to the UK in December - and now rather than experiencing daytime temperatures of 3 degrees, it has been between 16 and 23 over the last few weeks, which feels positively tropical!

Riding a bike in this weather at this time of year is absolute bliss. What is better than having a ride with friends; a cafe stop for a catch up, and picking tangerines off the trees to rehydrate. Portugal in the Winter....I just love it!
