Winter weather

While Fin was back in the UK telling tales of frost and snow, we have had our own share of wintery here in the Algarve over the last week or so. No sub-zero temperatures to brave over here in Portugal, but it has definitely been what I like to call 'weathery'!

We had orange weather warnings for rain - but regular followers of our blog will know that we have been in desperate need of that for many months now. The Algarve experienced severe drought conditions this year, leaving the Portuguese Environment Agency to warn that the Algarve only has water for a year if this 'rainy season' is the same as last year, which was relatively dry.

Stormy skies and seas make for dramatic photos, so I braved the weather to take some shots of how the scenery changes when the regular blue skies change to silver and grey.

The forecast for later this week looks a bit better, and all eyes are on the forecast for the festive period as it draws closer. There will certainly be no white Christmas for us, but a return to those blue sky days would be a lovely present!
