The summer switch is on!

For many, Summer Solstice, is a spiritural and cultural event. While it is the same for many people here in Portugal, it also officially marks the start of beach season! The country’s stunning coastline stretches over 800 kilometers, and in the Summer months it becomes a bustling haven for locals and tourists alike. 

In the last few days it is like someone has flicked a switch, and 'turned on summer'. We have gone from a comfortable 24 degrees last week to a weekend where we enjoyed (and at times endured!) temperatures up to 39 degrees.

From now on, the temperatures will regularly hit the high 30's in the coming months in the Algarve, and there is only one way to cool down - by hitting the beach! Portugal's beaches are renowned for their diverse beauty, offering everything from dramatic cliffs and hidden coves to expansive sandy stretches.
