A few weeks ago we mentioned that we had enjoyed a weekend away in Lisbon, and we decided it was time to finally share some of our photos with you! It is one of our favourite cities in the world, and we can't quite believe it, but it is about ten years since we last visited together.

As soon as our train entered the station and we got out into the bustling streets, we realised just how much we had missed it. The beauty of the buildings....the sights and sounds of a big city, and the smell of all the amazing food!

Anyone who has visited the Portuguese capital will know about the iconic tram No.28 - and the first sight of that when you're in the city gives you a little thrill! For those who don't know about it, we'll be blogging about it soon.

It's not just the trams that are iconic - the sight of the Arco da Rua Augusta is another of the city's most recognised historic monuments, designed to celebrate the reconstruction of the city after the devastating earthquake of 1755.

There is also the beautiful Elevador de Santa Justa - another gorgeous Lisbon landmark. Our sunny blue sky weather provided the perfect backdrop for our photos, but to be honest we think Lisbon is gorgeous whatever the weather!

It's a city full of character; full of fun, and one of the best things about being back was feeling that buzz again. Throughout the pandemic we missed the crowds; we missed the hustle and bustle, and it was so refreshing to be back in a place that felt so alive. We absolutely loved it, and discovered so many places on our travels that we can't wait to return!
