Autumn cycling without the Sunrise Alarm!

Autumn in the Algarve is like hitting the jackpot for road cyclists. Gone are the days of setting your alarm for the crack of dawn to beat the summer heat. Now, you can actually enjoy a leisurely breakfast, and still have plenty of time to hit the roads without turning into a puddle of sweat by 9am!

The cooler temperatures make those long rides a lot more comfortable, and the golden light of autumn adds a whole new level of beauty to the already stunning landscapes. As you pedal through the rolling hills and along the rugged coastline, you’ll notice that the roads are quieter too.

The summer crowds have thinned, leaving you with wide-open routes to explore at your own pace. Whether you're cruising through charming villages or tackling one of the many challenging climbs, there’s a sense of peacefulness that you can´t always guarantee in the peak of summer.

Another great thing about cycling in the western Algarve during autumn? The post-ride reward. With the harvest season in full swing, you’ll find an abundance of fresh, local produce at the markets, perfect for refueling after a long day on the bike. Picture yourself nibbling on some fresh figs, and toasting to another beautiful ride. Now that’s what I call cycling in paradise!
