A jaunt to Jerez

Following on from last week’s post about our trip to Seville - we have an admission to make. We were having such a good time that we decided to extend our stay and head South to Jerez. Sometimes you can’t beat a bit of spontaneity!

It is only a short drive from Seville, but it is amazing how different the two cities are. There is still a lovely buzz about Jerez, but it is a lot more relaxed and feels more laid back.

One of our favourite moments on the trip was a walking tour around the city. We ended up in tiny streets that we would never have found, but also saw the bigger sights like the many churches around the city, and the famous Tio Pepe winery.

One of the things we love when discovering places is that you never know what you’re going to come across. Peeking into doorways we saw some stunning hidden courtyards which were absolutely beautiful.

Having spent the past 14 months in Portugal, it was lovely to discover another country and the culture that comes with it. It was also a great excuse to sample some delicious tapas…..not that you really ever need an excuse to enjoy jamon iberico - yum yum!
